Writing what matters
When I started as a writer at Sportsnet magazine, they asked me what I wanted my “beat” to be. Most of my fellow writers said things like “hockey” or “NFL.” I said feminism. They all looked confused. Turns out, there’s lots of ways to talk about feminism in sports; it just take a feminist to spot the angle.
